Fleet Inventory & Lifecycle
The device list across vendors: normalized fields, filters, stale devices, last seen, and end-of-life counts.
Scope
Fleet is the tenant’s device inventory: every device from every integration, on one schema. This guide covers the device record, filters, staleness, and lifecycle.
The device record
Every device has the same fields, whichever vendor reported it:

| Product type | Device class, such as switch, access point, firewall, or router |
| Brand | The vendor brand, used for badges and filters |
| Site | Taken from the device’s confirmed network-to-site mapping |
| Lifecycle status | Supported, approaching end of life, past end of life, or unknown |
A device has no site until its vendor network is confirmed in the mapping review. Synapse derives the device’s site from that mapping and does not store it separately, so the two cannot disagree.
Filters
Filter the list by product type, lifecycle status, site, or sync status. The sync status filter shows every device that dropped out of syncs, across all vendors, in one list.
Active, stale, and last seen
- Active: the most recent successful sync saw the device.
- Stale: that sync did not see it. The device may be decommissioned, unplugged, or moved to another vendor account.
- Last seen stops at the last successful sighting of a stale device. It updates again if the device comes back.
Marking a device stale deletes nothing. Synapse keeps the device and its history.
Health status and sync status are separate. To check whether a device is still reporting, read the active or stale badge, not the health value.
Lifecycle counts
The inventory shows device counts per lifecycle tier, so you can see how many devices are near end of life at a glance. The refresh roadmap and the lifecycle score use the same tiers, so they always agree on a device’s tier.
