Endpoint & Service Operations

Organizations, agent enrollment, endpoint health, remote operations and operator access.

Audience: Service desk and endpoint operations teams Focus: Endpoint control and service delivery

Organizations and technician scope

Every endpoint belongs to one organization. An organization can be a customer or an internal business unit, and it can have locations. Technicians see and act only on the organizations in their access scope. To let someone from another company work in Relay, invite them as a guest in Portal.

Roles are defined in Relay and assigned to people in Portal.

Enrolling and tracking endpoints

  • Install the agent using the organization’s secret.
  • Check registration and agent health on the endpoint record.
  • Group endpoints by hand or with dynamic membership rules, and add tags.
  • Watch connectivity, heartbeat freshness and the composite health score for each endpoint and for the fleet.

Working on endpoints

  • Open terminal, file browser or desktop sessions. Sessions can be recorded, and the organization’s recording policy sets retention and legal hold.
  • Run bulk actions across a selection of endpoints.
  • Rotate agent keys.
  • Reconcile installed software against what should be there.

Service tickets

Relay does not hold tickets itself. The ITSM bridge forwards incidents and changes to Cadres Beacon or an external service desk, and reads ticket status back.
